Lazy Sunday

Well, actually, it was an active Sunday, but it was lazy in the sense that we neglected our chores. On average, we get two hours a day with Sloane during the week - 6:30 am to 7:30 am and 6 pm to 7 pm when she goes to bed. So, our weekends are precious and it's hard to tear ourselves away to do any needed housework or yardwork (hence the status of our house and yard). Our house isn't a complete disaster thanks to Isabel, our wonderful housekeeper, but it's not in my usual state of orderly perfection - there are several months of unread magazines piling up, the CDs are completely out of order on the rack, there are bank statements and tax info that is piled up on my desk to be filed and so on and so forth. The yard, is a completely different story - it is an unmitigated mess. Oh well, such is life with the World's Most Wonderful Child.

Today, we went to the newly refurbished Verona Park, in the town where John grew up. We can't believe how fabulous it is and why we hadn't taken Sloane sooner. It was a little kid's paradise. Sloane really enjoyed the 10,000 other kids there and the baby swings.

We also discovered the Sloane's new favorite thing (besides apples -- oh boy, does this child love apples!) is shakin' her groove thing. It's hard to tell in these pictures, but she loves to hop up and down (with mommy or daddy's help, of course), while jiggling her little caboose and laughing like a little mad woman. We were both practically crying, we were laughing so hard.
