Blackmail-able
Sloane is a bit interested in things mommy has in the bathroom. And yes, we do plan to blackmail her with these photos when she is a teenager.

19 and 20 months
Dear Lolli -
Mommy didn't send you your monthly love letter last month. It was a crazy, hectic month, full of house negotiations and travel and all kinds of craziness.
These last two months with you have been amazing and phenomenal. We find ourselves holding our breath, watching you do things and say things that we had no idea you knew how to say or how to do. Your words have exploded in the last few weeks and you now say all kinds of things that leave me speechless and dumbfounded. While we were at Grandma and Grandpa's house in New Orleans, you told me that the "ducks foo-fay" (flew away) and that outside was "wet yuck" (after it rained) and that lemons were "mmm good yum" and all kinds of other amazing things.
You can run so fast and now do so at every chance you get. You are in love with "Melmo" "Cookie" (monster) and every animal under the sun. You can tell me, without prompting, that cows say moo, sheep say baaa, kitties say meow and doggies say woof woof. And the sound that you make for a pig is the funniest thing I have ever heard. You quietly sing songs to yourself in the back seat and have conversations with your dollies that can last for a long time. You like to tuck them in to go night-night (though getting YOU to go night-night is still an exercise in frustration). You also like to tuck "Fwank" and "Callooo" in for night-night, too, with often hilarious results:
You really enjoy bossing Frank and Cali around, following them around and wagging your index finger and telling them "no, no!" You also like to tell daddy that he's "yucky," which is something he most certainly does not enjoy.
You've started using the potty at school (though still with limited success at home) and in general, you've opened up more and become more outgoing with other children. Your sweet, sunny disposition shines through no matter what you are doing.
In a few days, we'll be moving into our new house. We are holding our breath that you handle this move as well as you did five months ago when we moved to Atlanta from New Jersey. This house has a big yard and playroom and your own bathroom and dogs at the neighbor's houses and lots of little kids in the neighborhood. Your daddy and I chose this house because we think you'll be happy growing up there.
You're the light of my life, my reason for living and everything that your daddy and I do, every breath we take and every decision we make, is for you.
Love,
your mommy
P.S. see that binky in just about every picture? Yeah, that's going bye-bye as soon as we get settled in the new house, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Lullwater Park
Wow, that's a big duck, mama
Feeding frenzy as we break out the bread...
Notice the menace in this one's eyes when he realizes we're wearing down parkas
Closing in...
Daddy saves the day
By the lake
This blue heron came by to check us out
But he foo-fay (flew away) when we got too close

Way overdue pictures from Thanksgiving in New Orleans
yes, I know they're way over due. Yes, I've been a bad mommy. Yes, I have an excuse. We bought a hosue and have been deep in the throes of negotiations for the past two weeks. But it's done and we close Monday and move in on the 22nd. Posting may be very light to non-existent until we get settled.
Here are a select few pictures from our trip and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
being silly in grandpa's slippers
Dancing with my aunt Raisa at Thanksgiving
Double fisting the crackers
Killing grandpa
Eating lemons
Riding on the paddleboat with daddy and Skip at Alison's parent's country house in Mississippi
Fresh carrots from the garden
Riding the bronze goat at the zoo
Bye bye
